Is my donation tax deductible?
YES. And Go For Hope will furnish you with a receipt for charitable donations by the 15th day of January for the previous tax year, in accordance with IRS regulations.
Is Go For Hope a religious charity?
No. Go For Hope is an education nonprofit. Our purpose is to promote and support education initiatives in Central America.
How is my donation used?
In 2012, Go For Hope spent 70% of every dollar donated on programs to promote education. Our model is designed to increase that amount each year, with the goal of 100%. When you give a dollar to Go For Hope, it is used for the following:
- Purchase books, school supplies and learning materials for direct delivery to students.
- Fund program expenses, such as teacher training and materials for seed/start-up libraries.
- Awareness campaigns to promote community libraries in Nicaragua.
How are monthly pledges used?
All monthly pledges go into our General Fund, where they offset organizational expenses (overhead) or go toward one of our ongoing projects. Monthly contributions are critical to our long term ability to meet the needs of our projects.
